started as an Assistant Professor of Sexuality Studies this Fall.
Dr. Jessica Fields has been appointed
to the State Board of Education (SBE) Health Curriculum Framework
and Evaluation Criteria Committee (HCFCC).
Dr. Colleen Hoff, Deepalika Chakraverty,
and Walter Gomez presented at the
National HIV Prevention Conference
in August.

At the May CRGS Staff Meeting, SXS Graduate Student Marik
Xavier-Brier presented preliminary findings for his work on
the gay cultures in Second Life, an interactive online community.
At the April CRGS Staff Meeting, Drs. Jessica Fields, Rita Melendez
and Amy Sueyoshi and team presented findings from the H.O.L.D. Study.

At the March CRGS Staff Meeting, Gay
Couples Study Research Associate Walter Gomez, MA presented
on Spanish Speaking Gay Couples.
Over at the NSRC, Getting
it on with Bonnie host Bonnie Zylbergold interviewed Dr. Héctor
Carrillo on his Trayectos Study, in an episode titled "Sex
without Borders"
Dr. Jessica Fields teamed up with other sex education leaders for
a discussion on the future of sex education. Dr. Fields's book,
Risky Lessons: Sex Education and Social Inequality, is
on sale now.
